Sinopsis

Olga Painé, una niña mapuche-tehuelche es arrancada de su tierra patagónica en Río Negro en 1946. Crece entre monjas, discriminada por su origen. En su adultez busca a su familia. En plena dictadura se transforma en cantora, cambia su nombre convirtiéndose en Aimé Painé, y se reconoce en sus raíces. Inicia un camino de búsqueda y denuncia en la sabiduría de su pueblo. Es la primera mujer mapuche que expande su voz. Su vida ha sido un misterio, su obra un legado, tesoro que le pertenece al espíritu de la naturaleza del sur.
Olga Painé, a girl whose origin is mapuche-tehuelche, is dragged away from her homeland in Rio Negro, Patagonia, in 1946. She grows up among nuns, discriminated upon due to her aborigine origin. As a young adult, she searches for her family. In the midst of the Argentinian dictatorship, she becomes a singer who identifies with her roots, and adopts the name Aimé Painé. Soon she starts a quest for the wisdom of her people. She becomes the first female mapuche to spread her culture through her voice. Her life has been a mystery, and her work is a legacy, a treasure that belongs to the spirit of the south.
Motivación personal de la directora
La autora investiga durante años sobre esta grandiosa mujer, Aimé Painé, cantora y heroína cultural, y así inicia este proyecto que la fortalece. Aimé buscó valorar sus raíces abrazando a su gente. Lo hizo en plena dictadura, buscando y alzando la bandera de los derechos humanos de su pueblo. Esta ficción es el humilde homenaje de la autora/directora a una compañera espiritual, a un ser que asumió en su vida la delicada tarea de revisar la historia argentina, la raíz pisada por la Conquista del Desierto. Siendo un personaje revolucionario, Aimé atraviesa su propia vida descubriendo su identidad desde el reconocer su origen. Esta mujer ha despertado en la autora/directora una profunda admiración a su coraje y a su grandeza. Aimé no murió: su lucha continúa en el deseo de Aymará Rovera de seguir su camino y así hacerla renacer para el mundo entero para que la descubran tal como la describían las ancianas luego de sus presentaciones: “casi irreal, como una diosa, una diosa mapuche de otros tiempos”.
For years the author carries out research on this great woman, Aimé Painé, singer and cultural heroine, and so starts this project that boosts her enthusiasm. Aimé aimed at both valuing her roots and embracing her people. She did so raising her people´s human rights flag during a dictatorship. This fiction is the author’s humble tribute to a spiritual partner, a human being who undertook the sensitive task of revisiting the Argentinian history, revaluing those roots which were trampled during the “Conquista del Desierto”. As a revolutionary character, Aimé spends her own life discovering her real identity through the acceptance of her origins. This woman has sparkled the author’s deep admiration for her courage and her greatness. Aimé is not dead: her struggle prevails in Aymará Rovera’s wish to follow in her footsteps and thus make her re-emerge to be met and seen as through the eyes of the elderly ladies in her presentations: “almost unreal, like a goddess… like a mapuche goddess of former times”.
